LIT Summer Camp Program

Summer at the J, LIT Program

2019 Summer at the J Camp information COMING SOON!

For campers entering grades 8-9.

For teens, the summer is a time that should be a combination of fun, exploring and learning. At the JCCNS we know that we offer both experiences as part of our Summer at the J Camps program.

Beginning in 2019, Summer at the J is proud to offer our Summer at the J Simchah Leader-In-Training (LIT) program. Whether you’re looking to boost your resume, gain new skills, or connect with friends, both old and new, all while still experiencing the fun of summer camp, this program is for you! Led by our CIT-LIT Director, LITS will participate in age-appropriate counselor training and leadership workshops, team building activities, social justice projects, fun events and field trips. Additionally, LITS will help with camp special events, such as Spirit Days, all-camp gatherings, and will assist Summer at the J camp counselors in the implementation of programs for campers. Incoming 8-9th graders are welcome to participate in our LIT program.

While CITS and LITS will come together for some programming, there will also be programs geared towards each specific c group to foster cohesiveness and age-appropriate skill development among participants. The 201 9 LIT program will be offered in two-week sessions throughout the summer. Teens may register for multiple sessions; they must make a minimum two-week commitment. An overnight experience for CITS and LITS will be offered during week 6 of camp. The group will have a chance to connect outside of the camp environment, celebrate successes, reflect on challenges, and develop future opportunities for engagement throughout the school year. Spend the summer with us at the J. Our award-winning summer camp is truly a fun and exciting place to be, filled with smiling faces, new activities and fun-filled days in the sun. It promises to be a summer you won’t soon forget!!
