Join us for a powerful conversation with IDF Colonel (Reserve) Avner Cohen, who led the victim identification process at Shura Camp following the October 7 terrorist attacks in Israel.

Drawing from his firsthand experience, Colonel Cohen will share the profound challenges faced in the aftermath of the attacks, the immense responsibility of identifying the victims, and the extraordinary acts of compassion, resilience, and national unity that emerged during one of Israel’s darkest moments.

Colonel Cohen’s bio:
Avner Cohen, Col. (Res.), is a senior executive, entrepreneur, advisor, and lecturer. He holds an M.Sc. in Technology Management with honors, as well as degrees in Business Administration, including a specialization in Strategic Management.

He served in senior command and staff positions in the Israel Defense Forces, and in his last role served as Chief of Staff of a corps at the General Staff level. Following the October 7 attack, he led the victim identification process at Shura Camp, in cooperation with the IDF, Israel Police, government ministries, and expert teams. Today, he works as an advisor to the National Emergency Authority in Israel’s Ministry of Defense, as a board member, and as co-founder of AI4Life, an initiative that teaches artificial intelligence to senior citizens. Avner is the author of the book From Shura to Renewal. His lectures combine leadership, managerial and command experience, strategic management, and crisis management, alongside unity and mutual responsibility, a sense of mission, accountability, and personal and national resilience.
