Camp Simchah

Camp Simchah

We are excited to share with you some new details on our Camp Simchah Summer Program 2020!

We will continue to update you, and our website, as often as possible, so please check back and check your email from us daily.

Thank you for your patience and understanding as we work on making camp happen!

Daily Activities

  • Arts and Crafts, Science and Nature, Socially-Distanced Games, Core Values/Service Learning, Free Swim, and Music!
  • Daily free swim will take place between 12:30pm-2:30pm
  • Camp will be outside as much as possible and we will use natural shade and provide some canopy tents for additional shade

What to Bring

Families should plan for their camper to bring daily:

  • a backpack for their own gear
  • cooler (with ice packs) for their lunch and 2 snacks (we get hungry at camp!)
  • full water bottle that is refillable
  • sunscreen (campers will only be able to use their own sunscreen)
  • closed-toe, outdoor appropriate shoes, swimsuit and towel (bag for wet gear)
  • layers (for shifts in weather)
  • optional: hat with brim, sunglasses
What to pack

New Guidelines for Safety

  • At this time, campers and guardians are asked to wear face coverings at arrival and at least until campers pass daily health screening.
  • Check-in/Screening will be staggered (assigned times forthcoming) between 8:30am-9:15am, and in located in front of Epstein Hillel School
  • Pick Up will be staggered from 3:30pm-4:00pm (12:30pm-1:15pm for those with Kindercamp siblings who have opted for early dismissal) and in front of Epstein Hillel School.
  • Groups will travel as a pod and have no more than 10 campers with 2-3 counselors per group.
  • Campers who travel out of the country are requested to self-quarantine (and stay out of camp) for at least 14 days after return to Massachusetts.
  • Camp will meet state regulations and be licensed by the Marblehead Board of Health. For updated camp guidelines, please see:
Simchah Supplies

Camp Simchah campers will have a blast in a "return to the classic" JCCNS camp-model that we all know and love! Our shared campus with Epstein Hillel School allows for experiences both inside and out! Campers will enjoy daily rotations of Instructional Swim in our beautiful outdoor pool, Arts & Crafts, Sports & Games, Science & Nature, and some exciting, new, counselor-led group games, including use of our Gaga Pit!

Each week finishes off with our Shabbat Showcase — songs, performances, presentations & displays — a time for campers to showcase what they have accomplished that week! Plus, Fun Fridays will help close out our activity-filled weeks with even more fun! Campers entering 3rd-7th grades may choose to register for some weeks of Camp Simchah and other weeks of Simchah Specialty Camps. Campers can choose the programs they’re most interested in to craft the ultimate summer!
