A Poet’s Report on Israel’s Founding

Dr. Rachel Korazim is a leading Jewish educator and internationally renowned teacher of Israeli literature, known for bringing Hebrew poetry to life for diverse audiences around the world.
In this session, Rachel will introduce the poetry of Nathan Alterman through a new bilingual anthology of his poems, The Mirror of the Times, a project spearheaded by Dr. Korazim and Dr. Yizhar Hess of the World Zionist Organization.
Through selected poems, Rachel will explore Alterman’s questions about Israel, responsibility, and the role of a moral voice in times of crisis, and how these questions continue to resonate in Israel today.
