Water Polo at the JCCNS
Ages 9-14
Water polo is a dynamic team sport where two opposing teams try to score goals by throwing a ball into the other team’s goal in a swimming pool. Played in deep water, players must constantly swim, tread water using techniques like the eggbeater kick, and pass and shoot the ball using only one hand (except for the goalie). Combining elements of soccer, basketball, and hockey, water polo is a physically demanding sport.

NEW! Springboard Diving
Ages 9-14
Springboard diving is a competitive sport in which athletes dive from a flexible board set at either 1 meter or 3 meters above the water. Divers perform acrobatic maneuvers—such as flips and twists—while aiming for a clean, vertical entry. Athletes generate height and rotational momentum by timing their approach and effectively “riding” the board’s spring, allowing them to complete rotations and twists before entering the water in straight, pike, or tuck positions.
Prerequisite: Must be able to do a standing dive off of the blocks.
Sundays, 3:00pm-4:00pm
