The holiday of Shavuot directly connects our celebration of freedom at Passover with the giving of the Torah on Mt. Sinai. Similarly, Israel's Declaration of Independence - is both celebrated and challenged today as Israel turns 75 and evaluates how to define and implement the Jewish People's covenant of freedom for today's world.
